My experience learning English

Usually, English is used as the universal language, when you go to another country and you don’t speak the tongue, is very common to try to communicate in English or even when there are foreigners in your country and they ask you how to arrive to some place, they do it in this idiom. Also, when you’re searching for a job, sometimes is a requirement to know how to speak it. Personally, learning this language is very important for my daily life and for my future, so speaking English spontaneously is a goal that I want to meet, and I plan to reach it practicing more than before and watching more series or movies in English. Comparing the teaching between High School and University, this first one was always focus in grammar, reading and writing, instead now, I have to practice the pronunciation of words, speak with my classmates, listen some histories and then answer the activities (although sometimes I have to guess what the person is saying, because of the accent, and is very fun

Changes

Hi! I’m going to talk about what changes this Faculty could have. I’m on my second semester of Chemistry and Pharmacy, and as is written on the study programme, this career has 11 semesters. It sounds like it’s too much time, almost 6 years studying, or even more! But when I entered to this faculty I knew it would be difficult and it would demand a lot of time, because is very common to disapprove some subjects. I think it’s rational to be studying all these time, because we must have the necessary knowledge to work in the area we will choose and it’s important to be correctly prepared to front the future. So, I feel satisfied with the curriculum and the workload, although the length of studies sometimes is stressing and exhausting. Maybe when I’ll coursed more subjects I’d like to change some things. I can’t say the same when we talk about the faculty facilities, I’m not very happy with the infrastructure, I think it’s not big enough, for example when we need to take lunch, it’s

In my opinion

Hi! In this blog I’m going to give my opinion about some important topics that we should discuss very often, because we should try to improve our relation between humans and nature. What is your opinion about violence on television? I’d like to start saying that I disagree with all of types of violence, so I don’t like the idea of showing this type of actions to so many people, especially children, because the first years of life are so important to how our personality will be and it’s very probable that in a future they will normalize this and they won’t notice when they’re in presence of it. It happens with adults too, although they have use of reason, there are some people that doesn’t have empathy. What is your opinion about buying instead of adopting pets? I disagree with the idea of buying pets, because human is profiting of them. We shouldn’t treat them as an object. Cartoons and TV series

Hi, this time I’m going to talk about something I miss to do so much: watching cartoons and TV series. One of my favorites TV series is “Malcolm in the middle”, I think you recognize it. I like it because I feel identified with the relation between brothers and although years pass, I always have a lot of fun. I’m sad because this year I haven’t had much time to dedicate myself to enjoy them, I have to study a lot and when I have time, I spend it going out with my friends or just sleeping. Sometimes, when I stay with my family, we use to watch movies or series at night. We watch many kinds of categories, from romantic till adventures ones.   At this moment, I consider I’m an occasional watcher.   When I was a child, on weekends or when I arrived to my house after school, I used to watch “SpongeBob”, “Dexter’s Laboratory”, “Powerpuff girls” or “Hannah Montana”. The importance they have is that they’re part of my childhood and are part of my growth. I remember I liked them so much,

Post graduate studies

I’ve never think that much about what I am going to do when I’ll finish my career, because it’s too early for me and because of all the requirements, but probably I’ll dedicate to work some years to get a little bit of experience and then I’ll study to get a speciality in “Clinic Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Care” in this University, but first I have to approve the Clinic Pharmacy Diploma. Study a postgraduate degree to me means learn more and use all this information to help to patients in a better way. I think that’s my motivation. Well, at the moment I just searched information to do it in Chile, because I want to work here, but I’ve always wanted to study abroad. I imagine myself going to some University on England or USA, but I think it could be very expensive, so I hope I can realise this dream someday. Investigating about this speciality, I found some subjects that caught my attention and one of them is called “Infectious diseases”. It could be very hard, but interesting!

What job would I like to have?

Hello! In this blog I’m going to talk about what I want for my life in some years. My future profession has a lot of areas where I can work. This is my first year studying Chemistry and Pharmacy and I’m not sure of what kind of job I would like to have, maybe when I finish my career I will want something different. I don’t know if I want to work outdoor or indoors, but what I know at this moment is that I imagine myself working as a clinical pharmacist. I think I will be in contact with patients telling them about how they have to manage medicaments, or just analyzing their laboratory data to make an effective treatment.  I’ve always imagined me working at Santiago, near to my family, but I think when I get older I will be bored of this city and probably I will travel to the south of Chile. However, if one day someone offers me to work in other city or country, probably I will accept. About my salary, I know it isn’t bad, a pharmaceutical chemist is good paid, but I think it

Nanocapsules

Hello everyone! This time I’m going to write about something very important for the pharmaceutical nanotechnology: nanocapsules as drug delivery systems. I choose this topic because I think is very interesting the way that a drug can be administrated and how it can help to improve lifestyle. I didn’t know of the existence of this technology, till a day of this year, when I was visiting a science page of Facebook and I read about it. Well, a nanocapsule are colloidal nanobubbles with a liquid or solid core in which the drug is placed into a cavity, so, they can serve as a drug carrier. An advantage of them is the small form they are made. The design of this capsules was made because they would be absorbed in specific areas of our system in a better way, in other words, they would penetrate cells more easily because of the size of the structure and their polymer membrane, to finally make an efficient drug targeting.
